How a Door Interlock System Works?

A basic 2-door interlock works in four steps:

1. Door A opens. A person enters using a card, face scan, PIN or exit button. The door sensor tells the controller that Door A is open.
2. Door B locks. While Door A is open, the controller keeps Door B locked. Nobody can open it, even with a valid card.
3. Door A closes. Once the sensor confirms Door A is fully shut, Door B is released.
4. Door B opens. The person walks into the secure room. Door A is now locked until Door B closes.
